Raising awareness and fostering support for eating disorders advocacy in Ontario is crucial, especially on World Eating Disorders Action Day, as we strive to support eating disorders and promote understanding within the community.

World Eating Disorders Action Day on June 2, 2026 promotes ending stigma and fostering care together.

Each year on June 2, communities across the globe unite for World Eating Disorders Action DayTM (WEDAD), a collective effort in eating disorders advocacy to raise awareness, inspire action, and support eating disorders for those affected. This annual movement brings together individuals, families, clinicians, researchers, and activists in more than forty countries to spotlight the complex realities of eating disorders and demand systemic change.

In a world where stigma, misunderstanding, and underdiagnosis persist, World Eating Disorders Action DayTM matters more than ever. It’s a reminder that eating disorders are serious mental health conditions, not personal choices, and that recovery is possible with access to support, treatment, and resources.

This year’s theme: Stop Stigma. Start Care Together, aims to highlight the significant gaps in understanding, treatment, and care.

The following organizations are collaborating to enhance awareness of eating disorders advocacy and improve access to treatment and support for those facing these challenges in Ontario, especially in light of initiatives like World Eating Disorders Action Day.

But more importantly, let’s hear from those who have experienced the stigma and challenges in accessing care for eating disorders. It’s crucial to listen to their stories, as they highlight the importance of eating disorders advocacy. Let’s also explore the life-changing impact that the right care and support can achieve, especially on World Eating Disorders Action Day, when we come together to support eating disorders and those affected by them.
